Silly title, but I always liked the detail about Lyra's room being at the top of staircase twelve. This is from 'northern Lights' (or The Golden Compass if you like) by Philip Pullman and is Lyra and Roger, having come up with the idea of playing 'kids and Gobblers' on the roof, climbing inside to run down to the crypts.
I'm terribly lazy about painting whole scenes, background and all, so for all the flaws of the room I like it. You may notice their daemons are missing. I did too. AFTER I'd finished.
